Details:

Alright - the viewer looks like darth Vader. And they were converting from film to several formats of tape. Tape did not have time code, and film.

So I call it darth viewer. Mh1000 has a steel slide plate that should't wear out or break. Mh1000 isn't sealed quite as well the m-50, so you do need to clean mirrors more often. Shipped FedEx ground.

What could be better. See my article in listings for the hot splicer. They decided to design a world class 16mm viewer.

They introduced their 2 model's of viewer at the tail end film era. There just wan't a market when it arrived. With tape - every time you ejected the lost your timings, and would have to rewind reset counter fast forward shot. Both use a prism - mo viola is an 8 sided prism, Maier Hancock 4 and Zeus's 2.

Its heavy, and the voltage is not adjustable. Listing is for a Maier Hancock 16mm model MH1000 viewer - rare. And it was world class - but a few years too late. You had a tape of sound bites, and cover shots, with your voice over.

Both m-50 and MH1000 use 120 volt 50 watt bulbs, they are equally bright. So darth is in excellent condition, with a good bulb, and spare. So you might erase your control track and had to sometimes start over from scratch.

Tape took longer, and wan't as precise. I've cleaned it, and cleaning is easier than the Zeus's moonscape - doesn't have alignment fragile film slide bed.

Now that was a traumatic time, and film still had several advantages over tape. But tape was cheaper, and reusable. It has removable plates - no screwdriver needed to change a bulb and your spare is in bracket right next the use. By that time all the production houses and TV stations owned several Maier Hancock splicers - but also Zeus's ion moonscape viewers or mo viola model 50.

So the model MH1000 is an excellent viewer - easily equal to Zeus's moonscape and mo viola m-50.
